Bluegrass Community and Technical College Foundation
Project: Healthcare Success Coach -- Enhancing Student Success in Healthcare Programs
Result: Project goals were to increase retention and success among BIO 137 Anatomy & Physiology students. In14 pilot sections, a success coach facilitated sessions academic skills, career pathways, resources, and exam review and used the early-alert system. For non-attendance students, 45.2% were shown to be successful (ABC grade); for one session attendance, 60.9% were successful and for at least 3 sessions, 62.2% achieved target grade. 39% of students in pilot sections persisted to spring 2025, compared to 33% in other sections.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Foundation
Project: Writing Lab Project
Result: Project provided students with reading comprehension and writing skills to maintain good academic standing and aid persistence. Tutoring supported 28 students with 129 sessions completed for a total of over 150 hours of assistance in writing-based courses. 25 of the 28 students (89.3%) completed a credential or continued in the fall semester; 24 of the 28 students (85.7%) maintained academic standing (2.0 cumulative GPA).

Gateway Community and Technical College Foundation
Project: Food for Thought Pantry
Result: The pantry exceeded its service targets and made a meaningful difference in helping students stay enrolled. It supported more than 3,100 people in a year and distributed 27,000 pounds of food. Among pantry users, 84% were retained or completed, outperforming the overall student retention rate of 76%.

Maysville Community and Technical College Foundation
Project: Reframing Failure – Academic Recovery Program
Result: Project goal was to retain at-risk students and return them to good standing by assisting students on academic probation and suspension to persist. Individual success plans, intrusive advising, and emergency funds helped students with support at each stage. In the fall of 2024, 80 students moved from PRB2 to PRB1 or attained a GPA that increased their cumulative GPA. Emergency funding was utilized by 44 students.
Owensboro Community and Technical College Foundation, Inc.
Project: TECH-X 2024
Result: TECH-X is an accelerated, flexible, project-based program that leads to multi-craft certifications in manufacturing and skilled trades. Funding provided materials and support for 13 students in summer and 22 in fall. Of those, 33 are earning all 5 certificates. 92% from summer persisted and 90% continued fall-to-spring. 44 (duplicated) student awards helped students with protective equipment, work boots, and transportation.
Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College
Project: AIM SKYward
Result: Project served 75 students over two semesters. In spring, 82% earned a successful grade of C or better and 77% of the cohort persisted, registering for courses in summer or fall 2024. Overall, the program reduced withdrawal from the cohort by 8%, which is 3% higher than the goal. 100% of offered college services were utilized by cohort members. The majority of students indicated that they felt welcome on a Confidence and Belonging survey. AIM SKYward was selected as the League for Innovation in the Community College’s Innovation of the Year 2024 for the state of Kentucky.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College Foundation, Inc.
Project: Guided Pathways for First Year Orientations
Result: First Year Orientation was redesigned using Guided Pathways model to assist entering students to prepare for classes, learn about services, adjust to college life, and select a career pathway. More than 2,000 students attended orientation sessions. Future analysis will determine whether the new model supports student success.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Foundation
Project: Coaching SAP Students to Success
Result: The program provided support to students who failed to meet the required Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to continue financial aid. Coaches' intrusive coaching plan assisted students to meet requirements. The project group demonstrated a rate of 62% success in moving to next semester. A comparable randomly selected group of SAP students from a previous semester showed a rate of 48%.

Owensboro Community and Technical College Foundation, Inc.
Project: Breaking the Cycle Mentoring Internship Program
Results: An experiential learning internship provided mentoring by OCTC students, in partnership with local youth services organizations, to promote persistence and success of underrepresented minority (URM) youth. Eight students completed the mentoring program and four completed all coursework. Mentors rated their experience at a 9.4/10. URM youth received valuable mentoring services and positive exposure to OCTC.

Paducah Junior College, Inc. for West Kentucky Community and Technical College
Project: Increasing Student Success and Persistence Through
Innovative, Equitable and Diverse Course Design
Results: The grant supported the launch of an Innovative Faculty Leaders model for course redesign. By Spring 2024, 2 leaders and 9 faculty had received training and redesigned 9 courses. In 2 sessions of offering new courses, the student success rate (A, B, or C grade) showed increases of 5.6% and 11%. For underrepresented minority students, increases were 3.6% and 22.5%.​
